This crazy world
Updated: Jan 1
It's been a hot minute since I wrote my last blog entry. Life, and the world, have been crazy and, at times, turned upside down. So often, we get caught up in the anxiety of the "new normal" that we forget to stop and reflect and really SEE. My life has changed a great deal since my last blog post, in many ways for the better, and I am making the effort to simply "be" and see, observe, and be content and grateful for the amazing life I have been given. It has been good to step back and gain a new perspective.
In the last year and a half, I have become a homesteader, building something out of nothing, and learning to live off-grid. This means creating a living space with its own water and septic as well as a power grid that is completely solar. It is amazing - flip a switch and on comes a light. Wash clothes in the washing machine, shower, watch movies on the flatscreen tv, and enjoy internet with a small, line-of-sight dish that others in the area use to stay online. All powered by the sun and its unique power source. At times, it is a fight to keep everything working and moving forward, but I have found myself slowing down, appreciating the beauty of my new home and the quiet that comes with it. Please stop once in a while and just be still. You'll be astounded by the beauty and complexity of the natural world that surrounds you, no matter where you are. If you are interested in a discussion about homesteading, please hit me up!
Finally, I am ready to announce that I have finished my new book, the first in a series of three, and that it will be published in the next several months. I will be posting teasers on my site to give you a little taste of what to expect and will also post a cover reveal, at which time I will announce a release date. This project has thrilled me and I can't wait to release it to the world! I am now seeking ARC readers in the hopes that I can find some people who may want to leave an honest review. If you are interested, please reach out to me and I will see to it you get a copy.
Back to work :)
